Do you want to know who the most famous (著名的) duck in the world is? It’s Donald Duck!
Donald Duck looks really funny. He wears a classic (经典的) sailor (水手) outfit—a blue jacket and a red bow tie. His feathers (羽毛) are bright white, and his beak (鸟嘴) is wide and flat (扁平的). It’s orange-yellow in color. But the funniest thing is—he doesn’t wear any pants! He always walks around with his skinny (瘦瘦的) legs and big, flat feet.
He has a very short temper (脾气)! When something goes wrong, he gets mad (生气的) right away. He stomps (跺脚) his feet, flaps (拍打) his wings, and makes his famous sound: “Aw, phooey!” People all around the world know that sound. Even though he’s often angry, everyone still thinks he’s really cute (可爱的).
Donald Duck is not alone. He has three playful (爱玩的) nephews (外甥): Huey, Dewey, and Louie. They often follow their uncle around. Sometimes they help, and sometimes they cause trouble (惹麻烦)! He also has a very rich (有钱的) uncle named Scrooge McDuck. Uncle Scrooge loves his gold coins (金币). He has so many that they look like a mountain! Oh, and Donald Duck has a lovely (可爱的) and graceful (优雅的) girlfriend named Daisy Duck.
This funny duck first appeared (出现) on screen a long time ago—in 1934! He was in a short cartoon (动画片) called The Wise Little Hen. Everyone quickly liked this angry but silly (滑稽的) duck. Later, a talented (有才华的) artist named Carl Barks gave him more amazing (精彩的) stories. He also created Duckburg and Donald’s big, funny family.
Donald’s stories are always full of surprises (惊喜). He tries to do something simple, like fixing a roof (屋顶) or finding a job (工作), but things always go wrong! He might trip (绊倒) over a ladder (梯子) or get paint spilled (洒) all over him. It seems like bad luck (倒霉) follows him everywhere! But he almost never gives up (放弃). His never-quit spirit (精神) makes people want to cheer (为…加油) for him.
Why do so many people like watching him get into trouble? Because he feels just like a friend. He’s not perfect (完美的). He gets mad, he feels sad (伤心的), and he even shouts, “I’m going crazy (我要疯啦)!” But deep inside, he has a kind (善良的) heart. When we see him fall and get back up again and again, we can’t help but smile. He reminds (让人想起) us of ourselves, and that makes us feel warm and happy inside.
